UIndy’s Office of Hellenic Studies continues its Modern Greek Cinema Series this week with two showings of the 2009 film Homeland.
The movie, in Greek with English subtitles, is described as “an explosive parable of Greece coming apart at the seams, shown through the spectrum of a very dysfunctional family.” It premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was nominated for two awards. A trailer and more information are available at www.officeofhellenicstudies.com.
Pizza and refreshments will be served at the screenings, scheduled for 7:30 tonight (Thursday) and 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Good Hall’s Recital Hall.
The Office of Hellenic Studies was established to coordinate activities between UIndy’s home campus and its branch campus in Athens, Greece. The office is directed by Dr. Michalis “Michael” Poulakis, assistant professor in the School of Psychological Sciences.
