UIndy’s growing connection to the East was on display Friday when the Asian Programs office and the Chinese Student Union hosted the 2011 Chinese Culture Expo.
Visitors tested their skills at calligraphy and traditional crafts, got photos taken in colorful costumes, learned the correct way to drink tea and even how to assemble dumplings, which were just one of the tasty items available for sampling.
UIndy has several staffers and currently more than 150 students from China on campus, most of them through the university’s joint-degree partnership with the Ningbo Institute of Technology. More Chinese students are expected in the coming years through the new ZYUFL-UIndy International College in Shaoxing.
