UIndy nursing student Magda Leonfils is the subject of a story in
today’s South Indy Star, penned by staff writer William Booher. A native of Haiti, Leonfils lost several friends and relatives in the recent earthquake. Her local church, where her father is pastor, is trying to support its home community in Haiti.
Leonfils appeared Wednesday night at the International Division’s annual International Dinner, which this year was expanded into a fundraiser for American Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. The event was a success, celebrating Haitian culture and raising $3,600 for the cause.
