The future of Ukraine and the rising threat of biological terror were among the hot topics Tuesday night when former Sens. Richard Lugar and Sam Nunn reunited for a public conversation at the University of Indianapolis.
The bipartisan co-authors of the historic Cooperative Threat Reduction Program displayed their casual mastery of complex foreign policy issues in an hour-long discussion moderated by NPR host Steve Inskeep. The pair also expressed concerns about today’s domestic politics in a group interview with several local reporters before appearing before a capacity crowd in UIndy’s Ransburg Auditorium.
The event, “Diplomacy in Dangerous World,” was presented by UIndy and WFYI Public Media. It will make its broadcast debut at 9 p.m. Thursday on WFYI 1 Public Television and 7 p.m. Friday on WFYI-FM 90.1.
